Who Is Your Master? In order for these persons to be saved they must come down off of their ladders of pride, their stairways of power, and their elevators of authority. They must become low and common in mind, heart and spirit, just like every sinner must approach the Lord with sorrow of heart and acknowledgement of their need for Christ, as they acknowledge also that their very best works are as filthy rags without Jesus Christ. Without this acknowledgement there can be no true worship, or salvation, regardless of a persons position, rank or class in society or culture, because death is the great equalizer. God does not respect persons, but requires their faith in Christ. Evidence of this fact fills the Holy Scripture. Here are but a few of such declarations that make this fact perfectly clear: “Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of person” (Acts 10:34 KJV). And Paul reminds us, “But from those who seemed to be something—whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; God shows personal favoritism to no man—for those who seemed to be something added nothing to me" (Gal 2:6 NKJV). And Paul also reminds us, “And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear; knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot” (1Peter 1:17-19 NKJV).
